Three new appointments to Clinical Executive Committee

A GP, a dietitian and a district nurse leader have been appointed to sit on NHS Trafford’s Clinical Executive Committee (CEC).

Janet Collins, a district nurse team leader, and Brenda Purnell, an allied health professional (AHP) dietician, took up their posts in March.

And at the start of August, GP Dr Ann Harrison, of Primrose Avenue Surgery, will take up her seat alongside them.

All three were successful in being appointed to the committee after going through a competitive interview process.

The CEC, which is made up of clinical staff, directors and the chair of NHS Trafford, meets monthly to provide the organisation with a clinical point of view on commissioning proposals and strategies.

Liz O’Brien, CEC chair, said: “We welcome the chance to utilise Janet, Brenda and Ann’s extensive, patient-facing, clinical skills and experience, which I know will be a great asset.

“We changed the terms of reference of the committee when we moved from ‘Professional’ to a ‘Clinical Executive’, so the group could be made up of more frontline, clinical expertise rather than senior management.”
