The walk-in service at Trafford Health Centre, located at Trafford General Hospital, that was temporarily suspended for refurbishment has now re-opened.
The service is now located inside the hospital in what was formally Outpatients Suite 1. As a result of the refurbishment, the health centre now has a more spacious reception and waiting area, complete with isolation room for infectious cases as well as larger clinical rooms and an additional clinical room.
The health centre is available to anyone who has a minor ailment and is open everyday of the year from 8am to 8pm.
It is still important to Choose Well when using NHS services, and your GP should be the first point of contact for non-urgent illnesses or injuries that won't go away.
The walk-in centre can be used for illnesses and injuries that do not require a visit to accident and emergency (A&E). You don't need an appointment and will be seen by a GP where necessary.
There is also a minor injuries unit at Altrincham General Hospital. The unit has x-ray facilities and nurses can give out some medication, but there are no doctors on site. It is open from 8am to 8pm on weekdays, and from 10am to 6pm on weekends and bank holidays.
