A magazine produced jointly by NHS Trafford and Trafford Healthcare NHS Trust has triumphed at an award ceremony celebrating excellence in public relations from across the region.
Trafford Talks Health magazine, which is distributed in public areas throughout hospitals, doctors, dentists and libraries, received a silver award in the Best Magazine category at the CIPR North West PRide Awards.
The magazine is issued on a quarterly basis, and features an array of news stories from across the borough’s health services, as well as useful help and advice for readers on how to stay fit and healthy, and essential contacts and information on how to access services.
Erin Portsmouth, NHS Trafford’s corporate communications manager, said: “Having been involved in entering campaigns into this awards scheme before, I know how competitive it is, so it’s a fantastic achievement to gain recognition for a magazine that has so far only produced four issues.
“With Trafford Talks Health we are aiming to provide residents with useful health-related advice, support and information, update them on all the fantastic work that staff working in the NHS are doing every day, while at the same time ensuring it’s a good and interesting read!”
The winter edition of Trafford Talks Health magazine will be distributed in January. If you would like to receive a copy, e-mail traffordtalkshealth@trafford.nhs.uk with your contact details.

At the same awards ceremony, NHS Trafford was also a finalist in the Integrated Communications and Best Website categories for its dental access campaign.
