Now there’s no excuse!
It’s about to become easier than ever to register with an NHS dentist in Trafford, as dental teams from Davyhulme practices take to the streets to let people know they have plenty of spaces.
Both the Circle and Revive practices, based in Lostock and Davyhulme Circle respectively, will be in supermarkets and shopping centres over the coming months to spread the word that there are NHS dental spaces going spare in Trafford.
On Thursday 30 September, they will launch a new campaign to promote Trafford’s NHS dentists at Sainsbury’s in Urmston, with a stall in the store from 10am to 2pm.
This is the next stage of the Trafford dental access campaign, which will feature a series of outreach events to encourage Trafford residents to register with an NHS dental practice. The events will take place over the coming months across hey target areas in Trafford and will be accompanied by a series of billboard and 6 sheet posters.
Social marketing and engagement manager Katherine Beattie has worked with NHS Trafford’s dental team to develop and implement the campaign. “Previous dental campaigns have been all about getting the message that there are plenty of NHS dental spaces in Trafford, but we knew from speaking to local residents that the idea that there are no places is no longer a barrier,” she said.
“They knew there were places available – they just didn’t want to go. Either they thought it was unnecessary unless they had toothache, or they wore dentures and considered the dentist redundant, or they thought it would cost a fortune. Whatever the reason, plenty of Trafford residents just didn’t have a dentist.”
The new campaign features a series of posters that aim to dispel these myths, and the roadshows tie into this.
People will be able to register on the spot, or leave their details and get a telephone call a few days later to register them.
The team will be at various supermarkets and shopping centres in the Stretford and Urmston areas in October and November, so keep an eye out for them!
