Greater Manchester West NHS Foundation Trust runs mental health services, both inpatient and community, for people in Trafford who have more severe conditions, like schizophrenia or severe depression.
Trafford Community Mental Health Service consists of community based mental health workers who provide a service to adults between the ages of 16 to 64 experiencing severe and enduring mental health difficulties that can no longer be managed within primary care. This service is split into two teams who support people of Trafford, depending on where they live:
North locality: supporting people who live in Park, Clifford, Talbot, St Martins, Stretford, Longford, Davyhulme, Flixton, Urmston and Bucklow.
South locality: supporting people who live in Mersey St Mary’s, Priory, Sale Moor, Brooklands, Bowden, Altrincham, Broadheath, Village and Hale.
Access to these services is namely through your GP, however referrals are also accepted from social services and other health care teams.
The Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment Team (CRHTT) provide a high level of support and treatment to people experiencing acute mental health problems in their own homes. Working closely with the community mental health teams, the CRHTT takes the lead when a crisis or emergency occurs, as an alternative to hospital admission.
Access to this service is via community mental health teams or Accident and Emergency.
