Healthy Hips and Hearts is a peer education exercise programme designed to prevent falls in the over 65s. It was developed by the health improvement team to try and help older people to stay steady on their feet.
The classes involve gentle exercise, balance and some aerobic activity.
The programme also incorporates accident prevention awareness, for example, giving information on how to ensure your home is as safe as possible to prevent falls.
