Pharmacists are involved in the care and wellbeing of all members of the public. Every day they are available to support you and your family in all aspects of your healthcare.
Pharmacists work at the heart of your local community. They are experts in medicines information and are available for you to seek advice about aspects of your healthcare.
They will be able to direct your enquiry to other healthcare professionals and may in some cases be able to make a direct appointment for you to see or talk to someone else. Our pharmacists are able to help people improve their health, by providing health messages, advice and services in areas such as:
Trafford's pharmacists also participate in local and national health promotion campaigns and will be actively encouraging all members of the public to take a greater interest in their own wellbeing.
In Trafford there are 59 community pharmacies, all well placed and easily accessible throughout the borough. A number of pharmacies are open for longer hours for added convenience and many offer a delivery service for housebound people.
Pharmacists are also available to provide specific medicines information to help the care of older people and people with long-term conditions such as heart disease, diabetes and asthma. For example, they can prescribe nicotine replacement therapies, like nicotine patches, without involvement from a GP.
Ask your pharmacist for a 'medicines use review', where you pharmacist will work with you and other healthcare professionals to ensure you gain maximum benefit from your medicines.
If you are having any difficulties with your medicines or you would like additional information or reassurance then drop into your local pharmacy where you will always get good advice and now much more.
