Children's and Young People's Service (CYPS)

CYPS_logoTrafford CYPS is jointly governed and managed by Trafford Council, Trafford Healthcare NHS Trust and NHS Trafford. The CYPS has responsibility for all the main education (including schools), health and social care services for the 53,000 children and young people in the borough.

The CYPS aims to improve quality of life outcomes through bringing different agencies and services together to provide a more 'joined up' service for children, young people and their families. To achieve this CYPS commissions and provides a wide range of integrated services, including:
  

 

  • Multi-Agency Referral and Assessment Service (MARAS) for child protection and children in need
  • Children in care service
  • Adoption and fostering 
  • Complex additional needs service
  • Health visiting 
  • School nursing service 
  • Children and adult mental health service (CAMHS)
  • Maternity services 
  • Children’s centres 
  • Education and early years service 
  • School admissions 
  • Special educational needs service 
  • Youth offending service
