Maternity Services Liaison Committee

New or expectant parents who live in Trafford and have an interest in maternity and children's services are welcome to join the Maternity Services Liaison Committee (MSLC).  It’s a group of people including new parents, midwives, doctors and other professionals who meet every two months to help improve maternity care and facilities for parents and babies.  Any parent who has had a baby in the last five years can join. A free crèche is available (this needs to be booked in advance - see below for details).

What have we done recently?

In January 2010 we had a tour of the newly built St Mary's hospital in central Manchester.  In March 2010 we viewed the maternity unit at Wythenshawe hospital. The MSLC has been invited to have input into the development of Wythenshawe hospital’s midwife led unit.

Maternity services survey

Do you or a friend or relative have experience of accessing your local maternity services? Your local NHS is interested in your feedback to better understand how women find the services they need as soon as they know they are pregnant.

The following link takes you straight to a set of short questions which will help the NHS better communicate all of the available options to women in the future. The survey is anonymous, with no personal information requested and should take only a few minutes to complete.
